ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Joyce Ballenger Crook, 76, died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, N.C.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1691 Highway 160 West, Fort Mill, with Dr. Shelton P. Sanford officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside at the church fellowship hall.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Crook was a daughter of the late Wade and Bertie Sheffield Ballenger. She graduated from Central High School in Charlotte in 1950 and attended Limestone College. She was married 55 years to William H. Crook of Rock Hill. They were married in 1953 at Dilworth Methodist Church in Charlotte. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Crook is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Kimberly Jan Lacey and husband, Jay, of York, S.C.; her son, William Shannon Crook of Spanish Wells, Bahamas; and four grandchildren, Annie Lacey Broom of Rock Hill, Ellie Lacey, Alex Lacey and Andrew Lacey, all of York.
