CHESTER -- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Freeman Hall, 83, of 1989 Henry Road died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Mount Dowell Baptist Church in McConnells, S.C., with Andrew J. Rollinson officiating and the Rev. George Lowery delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in McConnells. Born in York County, she was the daughter of the late James Freeman and Lillie Wilkes Freeman. She was a member of Mount Dowell Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy John Thomas Hall. Survivors are six sons, Walter Lee Hall, Tony B. (Daisy) Hall, Jeffery T. (Clevette) Hall, Thomas A. (Stephanie) Hall, Curtis E. Hall and Alvin (Tammy) Hall; five daughters, Ora Elaine (Melvin) McCrorey, Veronica C. (Carl) Bowser, Cathy L. (John) Wilks, Tawana R. (Jeffery) Abell and Terri F. (Charles) Crawford; four brothers, James D. Freeman, Ernest L. Freeman, Andy (Willie Mae) Freeman and Roosevelt Freeman; two sisters, Annie Bell Freeman and Nancy R. (Willie) Parks; 40 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester and other times at the home of John and Cathy H. Wilks, 1277 Minter Road, Chester. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
