ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Annie Belle Sturgis Dodson, 91, formerly of 1155 Woodland Drive, died Friday, October 3, 2008, at Rock Hill Health Care Rehab after a long time of declining health.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Sandra King officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery, and other times at the home of her brother, Paul W. Sturgis, 1154 Myrtle Drive in Rock Hill.
A native of Rock Hill, S.C., Mrs. Dodson was born June 20, 1917, a daughter of the late Mary Ann (Annie) Enloe Sturgis and Ewell Walker Sturgis. She was a homemaker and a life-long member of St. John's United Church. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, Class of 1935. She was a long-time Ham Operator, Call No. K4YFM.
Mrs. Dodson is survived by a brother, Paul W. Sturgis; a niece; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee Dodson; stepson, Clarence Lee Dodson Jr.; two sisters, Elizabeth S. Courtney and Blanche S. Wylie; and four brothers, Gilbert, Heyward, Earl and Albert Sturgis.
