ROCK HILL -- Mr. Charles Hamilton Rowen, 90, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Kevin Gorry and Joseph Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. Rowen was a son of the late George Albert Rowen and the late Elma Louise Shifflett Rowen. He was a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post #34, the VFW and the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of WWII, serving 1942 through 1945. He was retired from Thomas and Howard Food Distribution and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa H. Rowen; his son, Ronald Thomas Rowen and his wife, Kathy, of Statesville, N.C.; his daughter, Peggy Hildebrand of Rock Hill; his sister, Margaret Avaux of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Brent Coker, Tommy Rowen, Michelle Miethe and Melanie Reeve; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill.
