CHESTER -- Mr. Roy Reynolds, 73, of 537 Leslie Street, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at his home.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, at First Freewill Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Sanders, John Porter and Ralph Byars officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Reynolds was born on May 18, 1935, in Kershaw County, S.C., a son of the late Freddie and Josephine Mattox Reynolds. He was a graduate of Chester High School Adult Education Program and graduated in 1976 with his son. Mr. Reynolds was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an active member of First Freewill Baptist Church. He was retired from Springs Industries.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Branham Reynolds; son, Calvin and wife, Cathy, of Chester; two daughters, Bonnie R. Byars and husband, the Rev. Ralph Byars Sr., of Roebuck, S.C., and Judy R. Adkins of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brother, Freddie Reynolds of Chester; and sister, Carol Murphy of Lexington. He was preceded in death by brothers, David Reynolds, Sinclair Reynolds and Nick Reynolds; sisters, Mary Branham and Roberta Rabon; and son-in-law, Roger Adkins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 today at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street in Chester.
