Julius Hope

CHESTER -- Mr. Julius B. "Shorty" Hope, 88, of 1532 Center Road died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Revs. Joey Shetley and Dale Roddey officiating. Burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Chester, Mr. Hope attended the schools of Chester County, retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran having served at Omaha Beach, Normandy during D- Day. He was a two time Purple Heart and Bronze Star recepient.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Dalton Hope; two daughters, Kim Hope Moore and her husband, Jean and Kaye Hope Cornwell and her husband, William, both of Chester; four grandchildren, Jonathan Cornwell, Khloe Moore, Eliot Moore, Julia Hope Cornwell, all of Chester; and one sister, Jessie Mae Williams of Rock Hill, S.C.
