INDIAN LAND -- Mr. James "Jimmy" Randolph Blackwelder Sr., 64, of 448 Laurel Hill, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Waxhaw, N.C., with Pastor Bobby Taylor officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Blackwelder was a son of the late William Randolph and Delewese McCraven Blackwelder. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Army Reserve. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 43 of Fort Mill. He retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates in Rock Hill and was a member of the Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Waxhaw, N.C.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Allen Blackwelder; two sons, Alex Blackwelder and his wife, Michelle, and Marty Blackwelder; one brother, Michael Blackwelder; one sister, Linda B. Helms and her husband, Wayne; two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Dalton Blackwelder; a brother-in-law, Junior McWatters; and a sister-in-law, Debi McWatters; two nieces, Kristy Neumer and her husband, Scott, and Stephanie Helms; two great-nieces, Kallie Neumer and Haley Robinson; and two great-nephews, Bradley and Ethan Neumer. He was preceded in death by a son, James (Randy) R. Blackwelder Jr.; a brother, Sonny Blackwelder; and a sister, Vivian Blackwelder.
