CHESTER -- Mr. James R. "Jack" Warmoth Jr., 86, of 147 Center St., Chester died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at his residence.
A memorial will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Warmoth officiating. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.
Born Jan. 1, 1922, in Chester, S.C., Mr. Warmoth was a son of James Richard Warmoth Sr. and Fannie Bell Campbell Warmoth. He attended schools of Chester County and was retired U.S. Air Force, having served during WWII in the Pacific Theater, Korean War and Vietnam. He also served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines. He was former owner and operator of a local sign company in Chester and a member of Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Warmoth of Henderson, Nev., and Gary Warmoth of California; four sisters, Frances Lorene Dabney of Chester, S.C., Juanita Robinson of Rock Hill, S.C., Peggy Lucille Propst of Concord, N.C., and Margie Virginia Wilson of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Edward Louis Warmoth Sr. of Sumter, S.C., and Bobby Gene Warmoth of Summerville, S.C. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Hennis Warmoth; two sisters, Barbara Ann Greene and Betty Lois Boone.
