CHESTER -- Mrs. Mary Peters Rogers Hollis, 83, of 553 Lakenglen Road, Chester, S.C., died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Hospice & Community Care, Rock Hill, S.C.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chester Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.
Born Jan. 30, 1925 in Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Hollis was the daughter of the late Walter Cariston and Alice Louise Peters. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Chester.
Surviving are two sons, David Rogers Jr. and his wife, Helen, of Clover, S.C., and Tim Rogers and his wife, Lynn, of Anderson, S.C.; four daughters, Linda Rogers Edgerlay and husband, Don, of Beaufort, S.C., Mary Rogers Gatch and husband, Jud, of Beaufort, S.C., Loraine Rogers Epps and husband, Steve, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Louise Rogers Hartsell and husband, Rick, of Piedmont, S.C.; two stepsons, Bill Hollis and wife, Marty, of Breckenridge, Texas and Richard Hollis and wife, Penny, of Chester, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Barbara Henderson of Dillon, S.C.; one grandchild; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hollis was first married to David R. Rogers who died in 1971. She later married Bob Hollis who has also preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
