ROCK HILL -- Richard "Dick" Holzcman Bennett, 75, of 2120 Regency Court, Rock Hill, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Agape Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Steve Hogg and the Rev. Charlie Lucas officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery.
Born in Detroit, Mich., to the late Alan and Molly Holzcman, he was reared in Durham, N.C., by the late Mimi and SJ Bennett. Dick attended UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 82nd and 101st Air Born Division and in Intelligence Operations. Early in his career Dick worked for the Tennessee Telephone Company as an Operations Manager and then retired after 22 years in Commercial Sales for the Rock Hill Telephone Company. Dick was also a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Martha Bolin Bennett; a son, Kevin Bennett and wife, Cindy, of Rock Hill; a daughter, Joanna T. Langley and husband, Christopher, of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren, Ian Bennett, Kyleigh Bennett and Katie Langley, all of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Rock Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Service and other times at the home.
