ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Edith Pittman Hill, 90, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Spring Arbor.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at St. John's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ken Owens officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. in Laurelwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rob Ferguson, Brian Blatt, Zim Cannon, Leslie Moore, Jimmy Givens and Ned Stafford.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Hill was a daughter of the late George Pittman and the late Clementine Vaughn Pittman. She was a member of the Pindarian Literature Club and was a Red Cross volunteer. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Dick Hill who was the former owner of Hill Warner Company.
Surviving are her son, Richard Hill and his wife, Karen, of Rock Hill; and her grandson, Dixon Hill of Cambridge, Mass. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Hill.
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at the home of her son, Richard Hill, 2511 Meredith Court, Rock Hill, S.C.
The family is very grateful to the many devoted people from Spring Arbor and Serenity Palliative & Hospice Care who gave Edith such loving care over the past three years.
