ROCK HILL -- Dusan Petrovic, 62, passed away Friday, November 14, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.
He was born in Yugoslavia, in 1946. He was a member of the Yugo Army and in 1968, he and his wife Ana immigrated to the United States. He was actively involved in the community. In years past, he was a member of the York County Amateur Radio Society, coached youth soccer and, most recently, was a nine-year member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34. He was a master craftsman and his favorite activity was golf.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Ana Petrovic; son, Nick Petrovic; daughters, Mary Sherwood and husband, Jeff, Diana Pirozzi and husband, Ryan, and Angie Douglas and husband, William; and three grandchildren, Nikolas Sherwood, Christina Sherwood and Isabella Pirozzi.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Petrovic will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Richard Taylor officiating. Military honors will be provided by The American Legion Frank Roach Post 34 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the York County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
