CHESTER -- Mrs. Nancy Grant Raines, 67, of 1030 Davis Drive, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Chester Regional Medical Center in Chester.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Clint Davis and Dwight Pearson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Born May 13, 1941, in Chester, S.C., Mrs. Raines was the daughter of Clifford Wendell and Edith Wells Lee Grant. She was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1961 and a former Chester County Auxiliary Police Officer, a certified E.M.T. and a member of Eastern Star. She was retired from Springs Industries and a former bookkeeper for City Drug and a member of the Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted friend, caring wife and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Raines; two sons, Bobby Raines and his wife, Robin, and Billy Raines, all of Chester; one daughter, Edie Raines Baker and her husband, Danny, of Blackstock, S.C.; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephen, Timothy, and Ryan Raines, all of Chester, and Chasity Cunningham and Danny Baker Jr., both of Blackstock. She is preceded in death by a brother, Terry Grant.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street in Chester, and other times at the home.
