James Edward Gray, 57, of 1823 Suttonspring Road, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Surviving are his wife, Roxie Harrison Gray; two sons, James R. Gray and James Allen Gray, both of York; a brother, Ralph Gray of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Dorothy Devalleo of Rock Hill; one grandson; and several other relatives.
Mr. Gray was born in Waynesville, N.C., June 4, 1951, a son of the late Frank Edward and Effie Brown Gray. He was a retired mechanic, retired from the National Guard as a Sgt. 1st Class after 27 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at their residence.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gray will be held Saturday at noon at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Jimmy Trantam officiating.
