FORT MILL -- Mrs. Alma King Haire, 83, of 1836 Doby Bridge Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at the Wayne Patrick Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Fort Mill Church of God. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.
A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Haire was a daughter of the late Samuel Arthur and Bealah Slagle King. She retired from Cone Mills after 25 years of service and she was a faithful member of the Fort Mill Church of God, where she served her Lord. She was the widow of Vonnie Max Haire.
Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie Harrington of Fort Mill; four sisters-in-law; six grandchildren, James Blanton, Dwayne Blanton and his wife, April, Chris Blanton and his wife, Brooke, Shane Montgomery, Dana Montgomery and Stacey Montgomery and his wife, Wendy; 13 great-grandchildren, Jamie Lynn, Brittany, Heather, Jake, April, Bethany, Lauren, Matthew, Will, Hope, Christian, Morgan and Reagan; and several nieces and nephews and her church family. Also surviving is her beloved dog, Bunny. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rickie Montgomery and a son-in-law, Jim Blanton.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Fort Mill Church of God.
