WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- Raymond W. Smith, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at Shirley Hills Baptist Church, with the Rev. Andy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Laurel Wood Cemetery, Rock Hill, S.C.
Mr. Smith was born in Rock Hill, to the late Charles E. and Augie Barbre Smith. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. He completed The Civilian Pilot Training Program and received his private pilot's license. He also served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-17 pilot and remained in the Reserves until retiring at the rank of Captain. He later entered Civil Service and retired in 1980.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pauline A. Smith of Warner Robins.
