YORK -- Mr. Charlie Lee Wade, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C. Born April 4, 1926, in McConnells, S.C., he was a son of the late Walker and Bertha Mobley Wade.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Mount Do-Well Baptist Church in McConnells. Burial will be at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery in Sharon, S.C. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 5, 2008, at Wright Funeral Home in York.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joe Cole Wade; two sons, William Charles Wade and John Worth Wade; a grandson, Bryan Wade; and two sisters, Amiee McCaw and Sarah Young.
To cherish his loving memories are four daughters, Carolyn Wade-Norman of Charlotte, N.C., Jane Elizabeth Wade and Mary London Wade, both of York, S.C., and Barbara Forney of Forest City, N.C.; nine sons, Frederick Charlie Wade and Napoleon Wade, both of York, S.C., Randy Lee Wade (Linda) of Charlotte, N.C., Jerry Joe Wade (Shawn) of Rock Hill, S.C., Melvin Bryant Wade (Faye) of Lake Wylie, S.C., John Wylie Wade of Gastonia, N.C., David Ellison (Michelle) of Timmonsville, S.C., John Allison (Joe Leslie) of Salisbury, N.C., and Ricky Allison (Felicia) of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Walker Wade Jr. of Middletown, Conn., William Wade of Sharon, S.C., Robert Wade of Hartford, Conn., and Jerry Wade (nephew, reared as sibling) of Decatur, Ga.; seven sisters, Gloria Johnson, Julia W. Cox and Janie Anderson (niece, reared as sibling), all of Middletown, Conn., Alberta Hill of Delaware, Mary Sanders, Nancy Minter and Lassie Burris, all of Sharon, S.C., Margaret Kelly and Lillie Crawford (niece, reared as sibling), both of York, S.C.; 34 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
