HICKORY, N.C. -- Glen A. Hutto Sr., 73, of Hickory, died Dec. 10, 2008.
Born Oct. 4, 1935 in Rock Hill, S.C., he was the son of the late George L. and Lula K. Hutto.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hickory. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he loved the Lord. During his life, he enjoyed bird watching, traveling, church leadership and working with youth in sports and church activities.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Voncile Dease Hutto of the home; son, Glen A. Hutto Jr. and wife, Alice Spivey Hutto; and two grandchildren, Claire Anna and Nicholas Glen, all of Hickory.

A private graveside and memorial service will be held in Hickory and conducted by Dr. Bill Leathers, Pastor of First Baptist Church and the Rev. Pat Pearce, retired Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church.
