ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Carrie Ivey McCardell, of 908 Arlington Ave., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Cedric Maddox officiating. The Rev. W. Banks White will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of York County, she was the daughter of the late Precious and Florence Anthony. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and was a member of the Adult Musical Choir. She was a member of Living Beauty Temple No. 709. She was the widow of William D. "Gig" McCardell.
She is survived by one son, Jesse (Bubber) Ivey Jr. of the home; two daughters, Elsie W. Springs of the home and Cornetta (James) Wilmore of Rock Hill; one stepdaughter, Mary Miller of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, one of whom she reared, Shan Barber of Rock Hill; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one devoted and loving sister, Willette Thompson of Rock Hill; and two devoted nieces, Phyllis (James) Hyatt and Margaret Jackson of Washington, D.C.

Mrs. McCardell may be viewed from noon until time of the service Thursday at the church.
