N. WILKESBORO, N.C. -- Mrs. Vivian Barko Church, 84, of Blairfield Court, North Wilkesboro, N.C., died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008.
Mrs. Church was born Sept. 24, 1924 in Chester, S.C., the daughter of John and Clara Doster Barko. She later moved to Rock Hill, S.C. She worked in South Carolina for her uncle in the textile industry.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel. The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home immediately following the service.
She is survived by one daughter, Melody Church Hoyle and husband, Ernie Hoyle, of Wilkesboro; two sons, Beryl Lee "Lucky" Church Jr. of Wilkesboro, Thomas Eugene "T.C." Church and wife, Debbie, of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Barko of Rock Hill, S.C.; two grandchildren, David Reza Khodayar of Dallas, Texas, Lacy Weston and husband, Terrance, of York, S.C.; and one great-grandson, Terrance Weston Jr. of York.
