YORK -- Mrs. Belinda Braswell Williams Barnwell, 92, of York, died Dec. 21, 2008, at Eden Gardens in Rock Hill, S.C.
She was born May 18, 1916, daughter of the late Isaac Thomas Braswell and Annie Farmer Braswell. She graduated from Elm City North Carolina High School, and enrolled in Nurses Training at Rocky Mount Sanitarium, where she received her Certificate as a Registered Nurse.
She served as a registered nurse in hospitals in Rocky Mount, N.C., Richmond, Va., and Alexandria, Va. She served for twenty-two years as nurse for a pediatrician in Alexandria.
She was active in Fairlington Presbyterian Church. On moving to York, she joined the First Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Friendly Circle.
Belinda is survived by a stepdaughter, Margaret Barnwell Moore of Frederick, Md.; a brother, John J. Braswell of Rocky Mount; special friends, Tommy and Patsy Williams of Rock Hill, and Ann Wiley Barnwell of York; and a number nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 26, at Bratton Funeral Home.
