ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Geneva Ray Weissinger, 90, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Westminster Towers in Rock Hill, S.C.
Geneva was a graduate of Tusculum College and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Kingsport and the Junior League. As an interior decorator, Geneva enjoyed homemaking and fashion designing. "Gomie", as her children and grandchildren called her, was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother.
Born in Greeneville, Tenn., to the late Hiram Clark and Ethel Stanton Ray, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Weissinger and survived by her daughter, Gail W. Stafford and her husband, Ned; her son, Henny C. Weissinger and his wife, Lynda; her sisters, Mable R. Rymer, Bertha R. Catherall and her husband, Jack and Katherine R. Lake and her husband, Bob; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Kingsport, Tenn., at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, with the Rev. Dr. David A. Cagle officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather in the fellowship hall of the church.
