CLOVER -- Douglas Edward Lunsford, 55, of Shelterwood Road died Dec. 31, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A native of Gaston County, he was a son of Helen Perry Willis and the late John Douglas Lunsford.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Cramerton Temple of God. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park. The Rev. Katherine Inscoe will officiate with the Rev. Buck Nichols and the Rev. Jim Sawyer assisting
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 2, 2009, at Cramerton Temple of God.

Survivors are wife of 37 years, Teresa Montenegro Lunsford of the home; mother and stepfather, Helen Perry Willis and Larry; sons, Joseph Edward Lunsford and wife, Kelly, of Clover, S.C., Christopher Lee Lunsford and wife, Tammy, of Clover; daughter, Amber Lunsford Smith and husband, Roy, of Gastonia, N.C.; grandchildren, Zachary Douglas Lunsford, Shelby Dawn Lunsford, Belinda Bryant, Tim Carpenter, Hailee Lunsford, Taylor Lunsford and Christopher Lunsford; sisters, Rita Lunsford of Mount Holly, N.C., Denise Lunsford of Gastonia and Linda Willis of Mount Holly; brothers, Benny Lunsford and wife, Melinda, of Gastonia, Bobby Lunsford of Gastonia, John Lunsford of Gastonia, Pete Willis and wife, Amy, of Louisiana; and father and mother-in-law, Frank and Lois Montenegro.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Greene.
Pallbearers are Mac MacCarroll, David Potts, Mike Perry, Joe Lunsford, Tim Davis, Shane Badger, Marvin Jenkins and Ernie Warskow. Honorary Pallbearers are Zachary Lunsford, Christopher Lunsford, Taylor Lunsford, Shelby Dawn Lunsford, Hailee Lunsford and Belinda Bryant.
