Knights rocked again by Bulls

For the second consecutive game the Knights lost to Durham. Also for the second consecutive game, the Knights pitching staff allowed 11 runs. Unlike the last game in which the Knights were able to score a few runs, they were shut out in this game.

Durham brought their big bats to the ballpark as they scored 11 runs off 15 hits to improve to a league best 10-3 on the season. Bulls starting pitcher Aneury Rodriguez made his Durham debut pitching 7.0 innings and striking out six to get the win.

Charlotte starter Jeff Marquez pitched well early before giving up a three-run homer in the 4th inning to Durham's Dan Johnson. It gave the Bulls the lead and they never looked back, tacking on two runs in the sixth inning, one in the seventh, three in the eighth and two more in the ninth. Alvin Colina and Ryan Shealy also homered for Durham.

Durham has now outscored the Knights 22-2 over the last two games. The Knights look to get some revenge over the next two days when they travel to Durham. Today's first pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

Right-hander Matt Zaleski (2-0, 1.50 ERA) will start for the Knights and right-hander Virgil Vasquez (2-0, 3.38 ERA) will start for Durham.
