The Panthers got some guys back, but had a higher-profile injury report than usual.
Running backs DeAngelo Williams (knee) and Jonathan Stewart (Wednesday) were held out, while with defensive end Julius Peppers (hand) was limited. Peppers right had was swollen after last week’s game, and he had it wrapped later, but downplayed the problem, syaing he just “fell on it.
Coupled with the absences of fullback Brad Hoover (high ankle sprain) and safety Charles Godfrey (ankle), there was a good bit of firepower missing.
Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad (knee), fullback Tony Fiammetta (concussion) and kicker JOhn Kasay (groin) practice fully, while tight end Dante Rosario (knee) were back on the field on a limited basis.
