Since Monday, when the Rock Hill school board decided to delay a reassignment process that could shrink the number of poor children at Oakdale Elementary, parents have been speaking out.
On his blog, District Three Education News, school board member Jim Vining has posted letters from Oakdale parents.
Parents have also been contacting the Herald with concerns. This excerpt from a letter posted by Vining captures the general sentiment:
"It angers me to think that the school board recognizes that there is, in fact, a problem with Oakdale's assignment policy to be addressed for the future, however, my child's education will suffer because action will not be taken for her benefit now. Please reassign Oakdale Elementary School district lines."
