As expected, the Panthers placed NT Maake Kemoeatu on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday, after his surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
Even coach John Fox admitted the result was "kind of expected," though Kemoeatu was holding out hope yesterday for a comeback.

Honestly, part of this might have been that as long as he held out hope, there was no use kicking him while he was down. Also, I suppose there was always a chance the docs went in there and found less damage.
Anyway, the cold world of football moved on.
They signed DT George Hypolite to replace him.
-- The air went out of Wofford, when LB Thomas Davis went down. Trainers immediately started looking at his right knee.
With Jon Beason (hamstring) on the sidelines, the thought of having to go into a game with Dan Connor and Landon Johnson with the starters was not a pretty one.
However, Davis was up and walking around a bit later, telling teammates he was OK.
-- G Duke Robinson (heat) and WR Ryne Robinson (knee) were back for the afternoon after missing the morning session. Jonathan Stewart (Achilles) also got the afternoon off, along with WR Muhsin Muhammad (old).
