The Panthers pro personnel department has been shrinking for a few years now, and it's almost down to nothing.
The Seattle Seahawks announced Friday, among other news, that they had hired Trent Kirchner as the team's assistant director of pro personnel.

Kirchner was the Panthers pro scout. As recently as two years ago, he was one of two men with that title here, working under pro personnel director Mark Koncz. Until the end of the 2007 season, Tag Ribary worked here in that same capacity, but when he left, he wasn't replaced.
The Panthers had extended all their personnel contracts through the spring of 2011, but they apparently let Kirchner go for the bump in title.
Ribary was named the Seahawks' director of pro personnel as part of the moves announced Friday.
