After surgery to repair his torn right achiles Wednesday morning, Panthers NT Maake Kemoeatu was placed on injured reserve. He was holding out hope for a return later this year, but team officials decided to shut him down after the procedure.
To fill his roster spot, the Panthers signed undrafted rookie George Hypolite from Colorado. He had been in camp with Jacksonville earlier this year.
