Yes, 89 was back out there on the practice field, and we’ll have more on him after he talks (or doesn’t) in the locker room. He was out early, flanked by coordinators Jeff Davidson and Mike Trgovac, wandering out among the first half-dozen players into practice at 11:20 a.m.
Of similar concern would be the ones who didn’t practice, a group which still includes LG Travelle Wharton (knee).
(Update 4:30 p.m.) During the open locker room period after practice, Wharton said he had an MCL sprain, and that he was feeling better, but had no timetable for a return.
Also out Wednesday were DE Tyler Brayton (ankle), LB Na’il Diggs (shoulder), CB Chris Gamble (arm) and QB Matt Moore (broken leg).
WR Ryne Robinson (knee) brought his helmet and did a few things Wednesday, similar to last week. Still be surprised if he returns in Minnesota. CB Richard Marshall (leg) was also limited.
Not having Wharton would be tough this week, as the Vikings interior defense is scary good. They’ll have to hang on with Geoff Hangartner until then.
