There was what might be described as a mild roar from the pre-practice huddle Tuesday morning, and a hop in all the steps that left it.
That's because coach John Fox has, as is his custom, cut OTAs short by a few days.

They'll work tomorrow, and then Monday and Tuesday of next week, cutting two days off the expected workload.
C Ryan Kalil laughed and said it's a tough question who appreciates the break more, the team or the surrounding personnel.
"At least we can run around and get a drink of water," Kalil said. "You guys just stand here and bake."
League rules allow 14 such practices, and this will give them 12, or one more than they normally have.
-- LB Jon Beason said he was surprised to hear the news of friend Dan Morgan's retirement. He hasn't talked to his former teammate yet, but said it's sad because Morgan's actually been underappreciated, despite earning All-Pro honors earlier in his career.
-- RT Jeff Otah said he's been impressed by rookie DE Everette Brown, who he lines up across from often. Said Brown's first step is extremely quick, but also envisions him being a good player against the run.
Having those two across from each other is going to help both, and should provide some of the more interesting competition once they put on pads and go to camp.
