They went light this morning on their return to Spartanburg, but there's plenty to work on. A few minor tweaks this morning, lineup-wise.

They're getting rookie DT Marlon Favorite a few more reps with the ones in Nick Hayden's place. That's a sign pointing to how each played, but also to the Panthers extreme need at the position. More help's coming, rest assured.

They also got CB Dante Wesley some work at safety. That speaks to the fact Nate Salley's still out, but also that they like what they've seen from rookie CBs Captain Munnerlyn and Sherrod Martin. Wesley's making the team to play special teams, so you might as well see if he's versatile.

Some other odds and ends from the morning:

-- RB Mike Goodson left after getting kicked in the leg. He's OK, but it matches the kick in the butt he's due after his debut, which included two fumbles and a throat-slash penalty.

He's talented, but not enough so that they can ignore the mental mistakes.

-- No real change in the injury report. RB Jonathan Stewart's still resting, while they're waiting for LB Thomas Davis to return. Davis looks close.

Also out were LB Landon Johnson, Salley, G C.J. Davis.
