You know, it started like a lot of Panthers games, but this one may actually have some promise.
Tampa Bay has a 7-3 lead at the end of the first, thanks to a Panthers turnover.
RB Mike Goodson actually looked good early, running for 2, 6 and 7 yards. But then he fumbled, and the Bucs went straight downfield, scoring on a four-play, 47-yard drive.
There were multiple receivers running free on the drive, capped by Arrelious Benn's 8-yard touchdown reception.
The Panthers are showing a little pulse, anyway. QB Jimmy Clausen has three third-down conversions passing (two to Brandon LaFell, one to David Gettis), and looks somewhat comfortable.
They did get a 46-yard field goal late, and at this stage, it stands as an achievement.
