The Panthers first blow of the night came when they realized DT Maake Kemoeatu wasn’t going to be able to go. The mammoth nose tackle tested his right ankle in pre-game warm-ups, but they weren’t satisfied he’d have held up.
That means they’re going to need Darwin Walker, Gary Gibson and just-promoted Nick Hayden to step up to slow the Giants run game.
They deactivated the following eight players: Kemoeatu, defensive end Hilee Taylor, linebacker Adam Seward, cornerback C.J. Wilson, wide receivers D.J. Hackett and Kenny Moore, offensive lineman Mackenzy Bernardeau and third quarterback Matt Moore.
As for the conditions, the field here is clear, since it’s been covered since Friday. But the wind’s going to be a significant factor, as every flag in the place is standing straight out.
