Jets QB Chad Pennington just won the Associated Press comeback player of the year award.
He received 19 of the 50 votes, with Kerry Collins and Jake Delhomme tying for second with six each.

Collins, I'd almost give you. Actually, I might not. But all Pennington came back from was his own stinkiness.
It's the latest in a string of snubs for Delhomme, who isn't even fully appreciated in his own market. But rest assured, if he was doing what he's doing this year in a bigger town, Delhomme might be as revered as Favre for his Lazarus act.
The guy had Tommy John surgery a year ago, for Pete's sake. That's a comeback. The other guys on the list were coming back from being benched or just being bad.
The good news is he doesn't care, but man, if there was ever a horses-for-courses award he should have clinched in October, this one was it.
