Given the admiration Jon Gruden always expressed for the Carolina Panthers personnel, it's no surprise some would wonder if he was a candidate here.
But his brother?
According to The Virginian-Pilot newspaper, UFL coach Jay Gruden could be headed to an NFL job, which an unnamed UFL source said was with Carolina.
The 43-year-old Jay Gruden is a long-time Arena League coach, who was leading the UFL's Florida Tuskers when that franchise moved to Virginia.

Gruden said he could hear if he's getting an NFL job as soon as today, but added: "Maybe Sunday, or Monday. We'll see how it goes."
He worked on his brother's staff in Tampa Bay, but most of his coaching experience has been with the Orlando Predators (1998-2001 and 2004-08).
In addition to the Super Bowl title he won with the Buccaneers, he also won six Arena Bowl titles.
