Four ill-timed turnovers and some quick baskets allowed the Clover Blue Eagles to pull away from the Northwestern Trojans, 73-57 on Saturday.
Three straight turnovers by Northwestern at the beginning of the fourth period resulted in a a 9-2 game-winning run from Clover.
"The kids played hard and we were able to execute," said Clover coach Dudley Lybrand. "The guys didn't have a lot of time to rest. We made some timely shots."
Along with the run, Clover scored a game-high 26 points in the fourth period. Senior Aaron Miller led Clover, scoring12 of his 14 points in the final period.

"He is what makes us go," Lybrand said. "He brings it every night out."
It wasn't just Miller's game that got Clover another victory. It was also the play of Darius Harris and Xavier Wiley.
Wiley scored 11 of his 15 points in the first period, as he went 4-4 from the floor with three 3-pointers.
Harris led all scorers with 21 points, eight of them in the first period.
Turnover plagued Northwestern at the start of the game with six turnovers in the opening period.
The Trojans picked up the pace in the second period, cut down on their turnovers and got back into the game.
Northwestern's Montrece Kennedy scored eight of his 16 points in the second period as the Trojans outscored the Blue Eagles 17-14.
With Clover holding just a five-point lead entering the third period, both squads offense stalled.
Clover took advantage of second-chance points and Harris and Devin Adams made key baskets for the Blue Eagles. In the fourth period Clover made nine of 12 foul shots, seven coming from Miller.
Clover was able to extend its five point lead into an eight point lead after three quarters.
In the fourth, Clover took advantage of Northwestern's miscues and quickly extended their lead.
The Trojans didn't go quietly and pulled within 11 point at 60-49 with four minutes left.
Better defense and free-throw shooting helped Clover ice the game as the clocked counted down. The Blue Eagles went 9-12 from the foul line in the fourth quarter, with seven of those coming from Miller.
