In a stadium where they haven't won in at least three years, the Rock Hill Bearcats shocked Fort Mill on Monday night.
Fort Mill entered the game at Bob Jones Stadium ranked second in Class AAA.
But that didn't intimidate the Bearcats, who scored in the final two minutes of the game to get the win.
Rock Hill, who was unranked in Class AAAA, improved to 3-1-1 while Fort Mill fell to 4-2-0.
"Playing from behind is never where you want to be," said Fort Mill coach Lloyd Chalker. "Maybe we needed a wake-up call."
The Bearcats set a blistering tempo to start the game and caught the Jackets off guard, scoring just 51 seconds into the game.
"That helped our confidence a lot," said Bearcats coach Wayne Clark. "We always liked to put pressure on teams early."
The quick goal came off the foot of sophomore forward Charles Coulson.
From there, Rock Hill controlled the ball most of the first half and pressured Fort Mill on defense nearly the entire game.
The Jackets outshot Rock Hill 19-12. However, Rock Hill's shots seemed to be more direct than Fort Mill's and set up better opportunities.
At 10:04, the Bearcats struck again when freshman Andrew Raad scored off an assist from senior Fernando Gonzalez.
The game was a physical one for both teams as Rock Hill was flagged with three yellow cards.
Fort Mill rallied in the final minutes of the first half. Jackets' senior forward Casey Schneider scored to make it 2-1, with the assist coming from freshman midfielder Jon Cutrone.
The Jackets controlled the ball throughout the second half.
That control finally paid off as Fort Mill tied the game with less than eight minutes left as Cutrone scored on an assist from junior midfielder Kevin Fielden.
As the clock counted down, Rock Hill avoided overtime off a corner kick.
Gonzalez kicked the ball from the right side of the field and hooked it to senior forward Micah Burklin, who knocked in the goal with less than a minute left.
