One of the best cross-country teams in the state is still the best in York County.
The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets swept the boys' and girls' races at the York County Meet on Saturday at Northwestern High School.
The defending Class AAA state champion girls' squad, Fort Mill ran away with the their race, while the boys edged Clover. The meet featured every high school in York County competing for team and individual championships.
Fort Mill coach Marc Pyrc missed one of his teams best performances of the season. Pyrc was in Texas for his brother's wedding, but left the team in the good hands of assistant Lipi Pratt.

"I think they did pretty good," Pratt said. "They ran hard and you can't really ask for anything more."
Lady Jackets senior Meredith Kilburn won the girl's race in a time of 18:3. Kilburn and Rock Hill's Alex Moseley were neck and neck for the first two miles, until Kilburn calmly, but methodically shifted into another gear and pulled away.
Moseley finished second with a time of 20:05 followed by South Pointe's Victoria Burdette, third at 20:27.
Fort Mill's top five finishers came in within the top 12. The Lady Jackets amassed a team score of 38, followed by South Pointe's 54.
Northwestern's Taylor Lehman was the high finisher for the Northwestern's Lady Trojans with a fourth place finish.
The highest Clover finisher was Hannah Holcombe in 15th, followed by Nation Ford's Kaley Donnelly at 16th. York's highest finisher was 38th, Hannah Barnwell.
The boys' race was a lot tighter as Fort Mill and Clover tied at 52 points each, but the Jackets got the win as their sixth place finisher, Jeremy Ricks, finished 19th, while Clover's sixth place finisher, Jason Witry, finished 34th.
Clover's Alex Flores won the boy's race with a time of 16:31; followed by teammate Austin Highfill at 16:36.
Northwestern's Sam Aaronson finished third at 16:39, followed by Fort Mill's top finisher Drew Marshall at 16:42.
Clover, Fort Mill and Northwestern were separated by three points. Northwestern finished third with a 54, two points behind Fort Mill and Clover.
Trojans coach Calvin Hudgins said he wasn't shocked at how close the boy's race was.
"I am real pleased with our effort," he said. "We had four quality programs in the boy's race. This is a competitive meet."
Rock Hill's Christian Ruppe was the Bearcats' top placer coming in seventh overall in 17:08. South Pointe's Loftin Bridges was a second behind him in eighth.
Nation Ford's top finisher was Luke Christenson in 24th and York's top finisher was Leland Comer in 38th.
