Red Cross volunteers help flood victims

Two York County chapter of the American Red Cross volunteers recently assisted flood victims in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Donnie Bowling, from the Fort Mill area, served on a disaster assessment team in Oklahoma City, Okla. His job was to view and assess the damage.

Vicky DeKoster of Rock Hill served as a case worker by talking to families and assisting with their needs in Wichita, Kan.

Bowling stayed in Oklahoma for almost two weeks, while DeKoster stayed in Kansas for the entire two weeks.

Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas have seen more than two weeks of rain that has caused widespread flooding.
