TOPS meeting planned on Tuesdays

TOPS, or Taking off Pounds Sensibly, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the YMCA York branch, 103 E. Madison St., York. The local weight loss support group has weigh-ins every week. Red Cross sets blood drives in Fort Mill

The York County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host the following blood drives:

• 2:30 to 7 p.m. today, First Baptist Church in Fort Mill, 121 Monroe White St.

• 1:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 8, Fort Mill Ford, 801 Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill.

Hospice has plans for children, volunteers

Hospice & Community Care will offer the following:

• Project HOPE (Healing Ourselves Through Personal Expression), a therapeutic art project for children, today through Aug. 3 at Grace Lutheran Church, 426 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill.

Project HOPE provides grieving children an outlet to express their grief in a healthy, creative way and to raise awareness of grieving children and teens. Therapeutic use of the arts has shown to aid in the healing process. Bereaved children are invited to create works of art with the assistance of a grief counselor and local artists. • Hospice & Community Care will have a volunteer training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at Second Baptist Church in Chester. Volunteers can knit a prayer shawl, be a companion to a patient, provide customer service at the resale shop or be a watchman representative. Hospice & Community Care's mission is to give hope, comfort and compassion. The free sessions are open to the public.
