Lancaster group gets cultural, heritage grant

See Lancaster at 201 W. Gay St., Lancaster, recently became the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the South Carolina State Budget and Control Board.

The grant was presented to the group's executive director, Frank Keel, by State Sen. Greg Gregory, R-Lancaster. The grant will be used to identify Lancaster County's cultural heritage resources for use in creating and promoting tourism.

Two receive scholarships from Finley Alumni group

The Rock Hill chapter of Finley Alumni has awarded scholarships to Chester County high school graduates Jasmine Abrams and Octavious Kelly.

Abrams is the daughter of Bridgett Abrams of Richburg. She graduated with honors from Lewisville High School. Kelly is the son of Angela Brown of Chester. He graduated with honors from Chester High School.

Scholarships from the chapter are awarded on the basis of academic and personal achievement and moral character. Applicants may attend a four-year college or a vocational school.

The chapter meets from 4 to 5 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month at Bannon Hall, 902 Crawford Road. For more details, contact Charlie Robinson, 327-4547.
