A mid-day fired destroyed a Rock Hill couple’s attic today.
Around 1:50 p.m., the Rock Hill Fire Department responded to 664 Chestnut St., located near Saluda Street, for a structural fire. Two people were inside the white, single story home.
Neither were injured, Battalion Chief Mark Simmons said. The fire, which started in the attic, was contained in about 15 minutes. The fire’s origin was undetermined, Simmons said. In addition to fire damage, the home also sustained smoke and heat damage, he said. For more details, read Saturday's Herald.
