Omnova Solutions gets Nine Who Care award

CONCORD, N.C. -- Omnova Solutions in Chester was one of nine individuals, groups and businesses to receive a Nine Who Care award Thursday from WSOC-TV Channel 9.

The 27th annual awards were given for community contributions at a lunch at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Omnova Solutions employs 130 at its chemical manufacturing plant at 1455 J.A. Cochran Bypass.

Employees participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Chester County, led by Kamala Lunger, accounting clerk; provide gifts for 75 to 100 from the Department of Social Services' Christmas angels; and raise money for Turning Point, a substance abuse rehabilitation facility for men, according to Lucille Mackey, human resources generalist.

Other winners were from Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Catawba and Alexander counties in North Carolina.

Correll Insurance Group ribbon-cutting Tuesday

Correll Insurance Group will have a ribbon-cutting at noon Tuesday at its location at 319 W. Oakland Ave.

The company's six employees provide personal and commercial insurance products and services. Rock Hill agent George Schwab is in charge of the office that previously operated as the Prestige Agency prior to the acquisition by Correll.

Correll Insurance Group has provided insurance in the Carolinas since 1931 and has several offices in South Carolina. Jon Jensen is president.

Henry Nocella joins Coldwell Banker United

Henry Nocella has joined the Fort Mill office of Coldwell Banker United Realtors, according to a company statement.

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors, Carolinas Region, has 624 sales associates and 17 offices including those in Rock Hill, Lancaster and Fort Mill.

Clover Community Bank opening York branch

CLOVER -- Clover Community Bank plans to open its third full-service branch in York. The branch will be located at 107 S. Congress St., according to Gwen M. Thompson, president and chief executive officer.

The ribbon-cutting for the full-service branch will be noon Oct. 1 and will include a barbecue. The office will offer mortgage and consumer loan products, commercial loans, safety deposit boxes and an automated teller machine.

Clover Community Bank, founded in 1987, is a state-chartered financial institution with branches in Clover and Lake Wylie and a loan production office in Rock Hill. Its parent company is Clover Community Bankshares.

Tega Cay networking event set for Tuesday

TEGA CAY -- A networking event hosted by First Citizens will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McHale's at 1820 Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill.

Warner to speak on Textile Corridor

David Warner, Textile Corridor redevelopment manager, will speak to the York County Employers Council at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be in the conference room at the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce, 116 East Main St.

Sponsored by the York County Employers Council, S.C. Employment Security Commission's Workforce Center and the chamber, the meeting is open to the public.

Family Medicine opens in Rock Hill

Family Medicine and Psychiatry of the Carolinas has opened an office at 1420 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.

The office offers primary medical care, psychiatry and individual therapy. The team includes Dr. Dan Pistone, Shay White, physician assistant, Karen Fulwood, nurse practitioner, and Monique Cox, licensed therapist and social worker.

Most major insurance is accepted along with Medicaid, Medicare and Tricare. New patients and walk-in appointments are available.
