Daimler Trucks to hold job fair Monday, Tuesday

Daimler Trucks North America, formerly Freightliner, will host a career fair at York Technical College on Monday and Tuesday, according to a news release.

The fair will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at York Tech's Baxter Hood Center. It is free and open to the public.

Representatives from Daimler Trucks' marketing and customer service areas will be on hand to meet applicants. Company officials will be from the following departments: customer application engineering, finance, human resources, marketing, operations and sales.

Daimler announced last fall it plans to move up to 400 sales and marketing jobs to York County later this year from its headquarters in Portland, Ore.

The company will temporarily locate its offices in the Fort Mill area but has plans to build an office campus off S.C. 274 near Lake Wylie.

RHEDC to have open meeting Tuesday

The Rock Hill Economic Development Corp. will hold its regular board meeting at noon Tuesday in Room 373 at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public, and copies of the agenda are available from the corporation's office at City Hall.

'Get Fit With Troy' to air on WJZY, WMYT

Rock Hill area personal trainer Troy Harris is moving his television show to a pair of new networks.

Beginning Wednesday, "Get Fit With Troy" will begin airing on WJZY, Channel 46, and on WMYT, Channel 12. It is scheduled to air on WJZY at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, 5 a.m. March 19 and 6:30 a.m. March 26. The fitness program will air on WMYT at 5 a.m. March 11, 14 and 25.

The show, formerly broadcast on Comporium cable Channel 2, features local guests of all ages learning how to begin a successful at-home workout program. For more, visit the Web site

Home Helpers to have ribbon-cutting Tuesday

Home Helpers of Rock Hill will have a ribbon-cutting at noon Tuesday at the York County Regional Chamber's office, 116 E. Main St., Rock Hill.

Home Helpers is a non-medical, in-home, health-care service provider that offers companionship and other in-home services for aging adults, new mothers and others needing assistance in their homes. It is locally owned by Marvin and Linda Stallworth. The company provides services such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation, laundry, recreational activities and more.
