Credit union, salon to hold ribbon-cuttings
Two area businesses, with the assistance of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce, will have ribbon-cutting ceremonies this week.
• Founders Federal Credit Union will have a ribbon-cutting at 5:30 p.m. today to celebrate the grand opening of its newest branch at 1290 Old Springdale Road, in the Crosspointe Square shopping center off Dave Lyle Boulevard.
The branch's hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday; and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. For information, call 326-1700 or visit www.foundersfcu.com.

Park Point Village plans $25 million expansion
ACTS Retirement-Life Communities announced that Park Pointe Village, a continuing care retirement community on Chesbrough Boulevard in Rock Hill, is planning a $25 million expansion to its 66-acre campus.
Park Pointe will add 36 independent living apartment homes and 26 one-story carriage homes.
An expansion celebration will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and is open to the public. Visitors can view floor plans, get more information about services and amenities and place a deposit to reserve one of the carriage homes or apartment homes.

The approximate 1,600- to 1,800-square-foot carriage homes are designed with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and in a choice of styles.
In addition to the new apartments and single-family homes, Park Pointe Village will add a new 6,850-square-foot wellness center with an indoor pool and a fully-equipped fitness area.
Park Pointe Village is a full-service life care community that meets seniors' needs over the long term by offering various stages of living, from independent to assisted living and skilled nursing care, all on the same campus. Home health care also is available.
Fort Mill Area Council to mark office's 5th year
FORT MILL -- The Fort Mill Area Council's five-year anniversary office celebration will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 210 Tom Hall St.
Piedmont Medical Center is the presenting sponsor of the celebration.
