Two stylists join Serenity Spa Salon

Stylists Lisa Henson and Bonnie Dhondt have joined Serenity Spa Salon at 1622 Ebenezer Road in the Park Place Offices in Rock Hill.

Henson has been a stylist in the Rock Hill area for 16 years. Dhondt, new to the area, has been a stylist for 12 years.

Both are accepting new clients. Appointments can be made Tuesday through Saturday by calling 980-6200.

Serenity was winner of the Herald's 2008 Buzzie Award for day spa.

Two attorneys open real estate practice

Tracy Frick and Jeffrey Trent, area real estate attorneys, have opened a new real estate practice, FrickTrent, with offices in Charlotte and Rock Hill.

Small business seminar offered at Winthrop

Winthrop University Small Business Development Center will host a seminar on how to start a small business at 6 p.m. Monday in 212 Thurmond Building, College of Business.

The seminars are free and provide basic information needed to start a small business.

York County chamber seek awards nominees

The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual business awards. The awards will be presented during the Regional Chamber's 10th annual meeting, Jan. 15 at the Baxter M. Hood Continuing Education Center, 452 S. Anderson Road.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

• Lifetime Business Achievement Award

• Fort Mill Area Council Business Person of the Year

• Rock Hill Area Council Business Person of the Year

• Tega Cay Area Council Business Person of the Year

• Small Business Person of the Year

The chamber's selection committee will review the nominations for consideration. The deadline to submit nominations is Dec. 1.

Lake Wylie chamber to host holiday gala Dec. 4

Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce will host its annual holiday gala at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at River Hills Country Club.

The event include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dancing.

Tickets are $70 per person, and seating is limited.

Blackmon new mortgage banker at First Citizens

Mindy Blackmon has been selected as a mortgage banker for First Citizens and will based at the Rock Hill branch on Herlong Avenue.

Blackmon will be responsible for originating residential loans for purchase or refinance.

She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and was a mortgage consultant at American Security Mortgage and Allen Tate Mortgage.
