Electrolux is recalling a number of stainless steel ovens that can have a sharp-edged trim, posing the threat of injury to users.
About 5,300 Sears Kenmore Elite slide-in ranges, which Electrolux Home Products Inc. distributes, with certain serial numbers are affected by the recall. Concerned customers can call Sears at 800-873-5011 or go to the company website and click on Product Recall at the bottom of the page.
The appliances were sold nationwide from May 2014 through April 2015 at Sear stores for between $2,400 and $3,700, according to a statement Wednesday from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
As a result of the sharp trim, one consumer reported being cut by a sharp edge below the range control panel, and the injury required stitches, according to the statement.
