Search continues for child after boat capsizes

SALEM -- Authorities continued searching Saturday for a three-year-old Greer boy who went missing after the sailboat he was on with his father capsized in Lake Jocassee in Oconee County.

Workers were able to rescue James Dorchak when the boat capsized around 2 p.m. Friday. But the lifejacket of his son, Joshua, appeared to have been caught in the rigging of the sailboat when it sank, television station WSPA reported on its Web site Saturday afternoon.

Investigators think high winds may have caused the sailboat to tip over.

Officials say the lake in the area where the sailboat sank is estimated to be more than 100 feet deep.

Dorchak served in the Navy and was an experienced sailor and swimmer, the TV station reported.
