Boyfriend charged in woman's assault

A Rock Hill man was arrested Sunday after his girlfriend accused him of sexually assaulting her, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The report states Clinton Alphonso Tate, 41, of 582 Iris Circle, was arguing with his 21-year-old girlfriend Sunday around 1 p.m. when he became angry and pushed her onto the couch. The woman told police Tate tore off her underwear and the top portion of her dress and sexually assaulted her, the report states.

According to the report, Tate made the woman change clothes after the incident. Then, she escaped to a friend's house and called police, the report states. Police recovered the clothes as evidence, the report states, and arrested Tate on charges of criminal sexual conduct.
